فرایند سل-ژل
The reason is that the sol-gel process allows the induction of mesoporosity to traditional ceramic compositions.
At this point of the process, the ceramic precursors are added to the liquid crystals, and the sol-gel process takes place through hydrolysis and conden- sation to yield the ceramics condensed around that supramicellar mesostructure.
Three-dimensional macroporous hydroxyapatite foams can be produced with a similar approach: the use of the sol-gel process employing surfactants as templates (Sanchez-Salcedo et al. 2010).
As will be described throughout this section, the production of bioactive glasses has evolved to the use of the sol-gel process, the relatively low synthetic temperature of which allows a greater versatility in composition and structure.
Glasses were traditionally prepared by melting processes at high temperature, although in the last few years and thanks to the development in the sol-gel technol- ogy, they can be prepared with much greater versatility and at relatively low tem- peratures through the sol-gel process (Vallet-Reg 2006).
